PAMELA NYAKAIRU RUHARO: BOARD MEMBER, MOVIT FOUNDATION
Pamela Nyakairu Ruharo is a distinguished professional with an extensive background in human resources, administration, and executive leadership. With a strong educational foundation and a wealth of practical experience, she brings a unique blend of strategic acumen and operational expertise to the Movit Foundation Board.
Pamela’s academic journey began at Makerere University Kampala, where she earned a BA in Social Sciences in 2005. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional development is demonstrated by numerous certifications. She attained her Project Planning and Management (Prince2 Certification) in 2007, followed by a certification in Promoting Innovation & Entrepreneurship through Incubation from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad in 2012. She further enhanced her skills with a Human Resources Management Certification from the Institute of Human Resources Management, Kenya in 2017 and 2019. In 2021, she became a Certified Human Resource Management Professional through the American Certification Institute, Lewes, Delaware, USA.
Her dedication to leadership and communication is highlighted by her Graduate Course in Leadership and Public Speaking Skills from the Rotary Leadership Institute in 2022. Most recently, she achieved her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2023.
In her current role, Pamela serves as the Head of the Human Resources/Administration Department and Executive Assistant at SMS Construction Limited. Here, she oversees HR strategies, administrative functions, and executive support, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a productive work environment. Prior to this, she was Human Resources and Administration manger at Namanve Thermal Power Plant, where she led HR initiatives, managed administrative operations, and contributed to strategic planning to support the company’s growth and operational efficiency.
Pamela has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills throughout her career, particularly in her current role. Her strategic vision and operational expertise have been instrumental in driving organizational success. As Head of the Human Resources and Administration Department, she plays a key role in shaping the company’s HR strategies and administrative processes.
Her leadership extends beyond her professional roles. She currently serves as Hope Creator President and Rotary Club President for the 2023/2024 term. She has also served as Rotary Foundation Director for two years and continues to play a crucial role as Executive Assistant at SMS Construction Limited.
Pamela is actively involved in various industry associations and regularly participates in conferences and events. Her affiliations include the Human Resources Association of Uganda, Uganda Cycling Association, Uganda Bamboo Association, Annual Rotary International Conferences, and Annual Rotary District Conferences.
Her professional contributions have been recognized through various certifications and memberships. She is a Certified Human Resource Management Professional with the American Certification Institute and a member of the Institute of Human Resources Management, Kenya, and the Human Resource Manager Association of Uganda. She is also a Prince2 Project Management Professional and a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF+1) with Rotary International Foundation, as well as a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute.
Outside her professional sphere, Pamela is an active Rotarian, a commercial bamboo farmer, an avid cyclist, a dog breeder, and a ticketing and travel agent. Her diverse interests reflect her dynamic personality and dedication to personal growth and community service.
Pamela Nyakairu Ruharo’s extensive experience, leadership capabilities, and commitment to community service make her an asset to the Movit Foundation Board. Her strategic insights and operational expertise will undoubtedly contribute to advancing the Foundation’s mission of championing change in the community.
