A Promise Kept: Kadindimo’s New Beginning
For over 60 years, Kadindimo Primary School has been the academic heart of the Karambi community in Rwimi Sub-County, Bunyangabu District. But success came at a cost. As enrollment rose, classrooms grew unbearably cramped, furniture ran short, and the school's remote setting made academic excellence feel like a privilege reserved for city children.
Movit Foundation stepped forward to anchor its mandate under the Education Pillar by filling this critical gap.
From memory to mission.
For our founder, Mr. Simpson Birungi, this story is personal. A proud alumnus of Kadindimo, he set out to give the next generation of Karambi's children the classrooms he never had.
“Decades after walking these same dusty paths as a boy, our Founder set out to keep a promise to the community that shaped him.”
Five classrooms. A new beginning.
Working with local leaders, district officials and school administrators, Movit Foundation constructed a modern five-classroom block, installed electricity to support evening study, and provided 150 custom-built desks so every child has a dignified place to sit, write and learn.
On 20th August 2026, the project was officially handed over by the Minister of Local Government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara, joined by Mr. Birungi, Board Chairperson Dr. Bruce Mpamizo, Members of Parliament, district leaders and Movit Africa Companies' staff. The celebration brought together 2,498 community members, including 51 Persons With Disabilities.
